Sunshine, Blue Skies

What a beautiful day it was today. I woke up about 7:30am and watched the news for a little bit, then I made my bed and did some light house cleaning. Jason went to his Dad's this weekend, so we did not have the pleasure of his company this weekend. Today was county clean up day, so the County trucks were rumbled up and down the streets early this morning. They picked up the junk we put out about 8:30 this morning. Checked my email and my cousin Bernita, who had surgery this week, wrote that she is at home and doing good, thank the Lord. I got dressed and then Steve and I went to the Post Office to check his post office box for mail.

Then we went to the new Union Bank and Trust that opened on Staples Mill Road. We had received a mailer saying they were having their grand opening celebration and was giving away a Smart Cart. You entered the drawing and they called a name every so often and your name was called you would get a key to see if it started the car. Needless to say, our name was not called. They drew eleven names and they gave each person a card with a number on it. Then they drew a key that had that matching number on the tag and that person got to try their key. It took six to seven tries before this elderly ladies' key started the car and everyone started clapping. The car is so cute and believe it or not has a lot of leg room in it. We did get some free totes and Steve won a lunch cooler bag. They had free hot dogs, drinks, donuts, chips and Brewster's Ice Cream. They had wheels to spin and win prizes. It was a lot of fun.

Daynon left for Philadelphia today for a conference with two of his co-workers. Haven't heard from him but Stevie's GPS on his cell phone said he was there.

After we left the bank, we went and picked up Dad and headed to Linda and Stevie's house. They have a lot of trees around their property, so Stevie wanted to use Daddy's saw to cut them down. He got Daddy, Steve and Me instead. They cut down a lot of trees. A couple of the trees that went down made me a little nervous. One was going near the house and then one was heading for the mail box. But we didn't have any disasters. Some of the trees were small in diameter but very tall. They cut up all the trees for fire wood and we stacked all the branches for Stevie to take to the dump soon. After about two or three hours over there, we packed up and went home. I showered and washed my hair (which is a two hour minimum ordeal) when I got home and then started getting my clothes together for church tomorrow. Going to get and the bed and watch a little TV for awhile until the news comes on.
