Let the sunshine in!

I was so glad to see the sun this morning. It felt like the clouds had been around forever. I got up around six this morning to get Jason up for school. We left around 7 or so. Had to stop at his Grandmother's to drop his medicine off because kids can't have any medication on them at school. Dropped him off at school and came home. Came home and washed and relaxed my hair. Times are hard and I just don't have 50-60 dollars to get a relaxer at the beauty salon. So I bought a six dollar box of Dark and Lovely relaxer. I figured it would either work and I would be wearing wigs for a while. I decided not to try and do my whole head, but do the front part where the frizzes are. I made sure I only kept it in my hair the allotted time. Then I had to rinse the relaxer out and then shampoo it until the lather was no longer pink, that meant all the relaxer was out. It took quite a few lathers and then I put the conditioner in. All these things come in the box including a pair of gloves. It was a learning experience for me. I rolled my hair up and then sat under the dryer for an hour. It turned out rather good, if I must say so my self. It definietly looked better than it did.

By the time I finished my hair, it was time for The Price is Right. Bob Barker was on there today promoting his new book which was the theme for the two showcaases. Bob looked very well and was sharp as a tack.

While looking at the news, my friend Betty Reid called. She called on my cell phone and for some reason, I could not hear her and she could not hear me. So I called her back from the house phone. We did not talk to each other on Easter so we we talked about our family activites on that day. Stevie called while I was talking to her. Linda and him were out and about. Linda had an appointment today and he was off.

We left home and went to the Post Office and then went to Alltel to get my phone checked out. They are going to replace it since it is still in warranty. We left there and rode down Broad Street sight seeing. When we got to Broad and Bellevedere, I called Daynon because he works in that area. Thought he might be out and about. He was in his office but told us to stop by and we could go get something together. We ended up at Cold Stone Creamery. Steve and I had not been there before. I will not be going back. That place is dangerous. I enjoyed the cup of ice cream I got. Daynon got a peanut butter concoction and Steve got a vanilla and banana combination. I got chocolate and vanilla with english walnuts. Sooo good. Daddy called while we were at the ice cream store. He had been to the Dr's office to get his defibillator checked. He said everything was fine. He wanted me to know he was stopping at KMART and then going home to trim the grass. We then carried Daynon back to work and then we came home. I called myself watching TV but I feel asleep.

The phone woke me up several times and then I started watching Ellen. Rev.Lee (our Minister of Music at Mt.Olive)called about 5:30 to tell me that choir rehearsal had been cancelled. So I called all the people in the Alto section to inform them of this great news. I looked at jobs on line and then we ate dinner and went over Daddy's. We watched TV with him until nine and then we went home.

I had taped Survivor so I looked at that and then Steve and I watched Harper's Island. Harper's Island is a sleeper show. Don't sleep on it. It is a good show. It is my kind of show. A thriller. Three people died on the show last night and two last week. The show is like a thriller soap opera and it's last show is July 5th I think. If you have On Demand, catch up on the show or I am sure you can watch on CBS online. Everybody is suspect in this show. After that went off I looked at a documentary on Black movies in the 70's. It was an interesting show with Fred Williamson (The Hammer) and Pam Greer (Foxy Brown) narrating some of it. I went to bed after that. It was 12:30am.
