Hey guys...hope you had a memorable Memorial Day. I woke up around 7:45 and turned on the TV. I got up and boiled my eggs for the deviled eggs I was making today for a cook out at Babysis' and Juiny Boy's house. I learned a trick to make perfect hard boiled eggs. Put your eggs in the pan fill the pan with water above the eggs. Turn the heat on high and when the water starts vigorously boiling, cut the heat off. When the water is at a temperature you can comfortably put your hands in the water, the eggs are ready. The yolks are very yellow. Try it. I watched TV until the eggs were ready. I then cracked my eggs, which cracked perfectly. I then cut the eggs and put the yolks in the mixing bowl and added mayo and whipped until smooth. I then put my egg mixture in a pastry bag and squeeze it in the eggs. They come out very pretty that way.
I cleaned my kitchen up and then I took my shower and got ready to go pick Dad and Aunt Margo up. We have a traditional of going to Roselawn Cemetery on Memorial Day to put flowers on the graves of our family members. We usually meet up with other family members, but only Aunt Yvonne (Daddy's sister) was there. His other sisters that usually be there Aunt Shelia , was not feeling well and Aunt Janice, who was out of town, did not come. We always carry chairs and a cooler but we didn't sit out this year. We did the flower thing, talked to a few folks and then left.
We got back to Dad's about 2. He had to put his rice pudding for the cookout. We went home to change clothes and got back to his house around 3:30. The rice pudding was piping hot out of the oven. When we got to Babysis', Juiny Boy's sisters Lucille, Gloria and Charlene were already there with the kids. Also, their neighbor Mattie and Lorenzo were there. They had already started eating so we went straight in the house and fixed a plate. Everything was delicious but I must say Daddy put his foot in the rice pudding. I liked rice pudding but I am not a lover of it, but I had to get two helpings today. And I was not the only one. He had a big aluminum pan of it and there was only the corners left by the end of the evening.
Steve and Linda came after we had eaten and then Lynette and
Daynon came not too long after them. I was glad to see my family. Ok my boys think I am goofy but let me tell you a story. When they were young I always prayed that God would watch over them and keep them safe like every parent. I prayed that I would live to see them grow up. I prayed that God would send them someone someday that they would love and would be loved back and he did. And he gave them wives that I love also and everyone can't say that. Anyway, I am very proud of my boys. Not because of what they've become but because of who they are. People compliment Steve and I on what nice young men we raised but we can not take all the credit. It was prayers answered and it was our effort to instill the love of God in their lives by training them and having them in church and Sunday school at a young age. So we can not take all the credit. So I thank God for not having to go to the jail house to visit them, never had a police officer to bring them home or had to go to school because they were suspended from school. Now don't get me wrong, they are not perfect....LOL. But they are two good men and I love them and my daughter-in-laws very much. Oh yeah, my prayers are now that I live to see my great grand children...LOL.

Back to my day, we sat around and talked. Steve, Linda, Daynon and Lynette left and then the sisters and then Steve, Daddy and I left. We got to Dad's about 8:30. We went home and I watched Harper's Island. Boy, that man got split in half. Played Scrabble on my IPOD with people on Facebook. It is midnight, so I am going to bed now.
