July 12, 2009 Where was I when the lights went out?

Sunday morning, 2nd Sunday, so I sing twice today. Went and picked Freda up for church because Babysis was out of town. Rev. Thompson is on vacation so Rev. Tatum preached at 8am and Rev. Carter preached at 11am service. Took Freda home between services and ran home for a little bit. Had received a voicemail from Steve's nephew Bruce's girlfriend Juanita. Gave me a lead on a job, hope it pans out.

After church, went to WalMart to pick up a few things for dinner. Went home and picked up Steve and then went to Dad's. Dad was frying some chicken today that he did not cook for the 4th. I cooked string beans, corn on the cob and heated up some mac and cheese I had in the freezer from the 4th. Bought some Sara Lee pound cake, whip cream and stawberries for dessert.

Stevie, Linda,Daynon and Lynette came by for dinner and Jason made a surprise arrival. Daddy did not know he was back in town but we did. His grandmother dropped him off. We ate dinner and the kids left because Daynon and Lynette had to tour the maternity ward at St.Mary's and Stevie had to go home and study. I went in the house to wash the dishes and Jason and Daddy came in, sat on the sofa and went to sleep. Daddy woke up first and then finally Jason. A storm came in with heavy rain so we went in and left for home when the rain subsided. When we left Dad's, we realized the neighborhood behind him and our neighborhood was without lights. Fortuantely, my IPOD and my portable DVD player had fully charged batteries, so Jason and I listened to music and played games on the IPOD. We watched Paul Blart Mall Cop on DVD. Don't waste your time watching it. I think Kevin James is funny but this was not funny. We went to bed about 12:30 and the lights came on about 1:15am.
