July 31, 2009 The last day of July

I got up this morning and it was a struggle to move out the door and go to exercise. At first the class was a fun distraction, now it is exercise. And there are some days, I just don't want to go. But I pushed myself and went. After class, I went to check out the Bon Secours Health center. I heard you can get free health care so I was all on that. Went home and started working a that head board. Have you sometimes started things you wish you had never started. Well that head board is one of those things for me. I found out that that it is made up on more than one kind of wood so it sands differently. And then when I stained it, it stained differently. I can not imagine how this will turn out.

We shut things down at home and did the PO&B run. Stopped in at Skinny Dip's on Mountain Road. They sell the real Italian ices that are almost like a custard. It was delicious. I got cherry and Steve got orange/vanilla. You need to check them out. They also sell retro candy like candy cigarettes and BB Bats.

We then went to Dad's. We were going to paint the plastic on the dashboard in the Mustang but it was windy so I got Steve to pull off a hub cap and we started scrubbing them. All of a sudden the sky opened up and started raining so we were forced in the house. Watched Gunsmoke and then Daddy decided he wanted to go to Golden Corral. So off we went. We ate and sat around and talked then we took Daddy home. We came home around 5 and did some things around the house and watched the Young and the Restless and went back to Dad's about 6:30. Went back to scrubbing the hub caps until dark and then left about 9:30. Came home and and sat on the patio with Steve and we ate watermelon. Took a shower around eleven and went to bed.

I can not believe the summer is going by so fast. August is upon us. Today when I woke up, I remembered that today is my cousin Timmy's birthday. It still does not seem real that he is no longer with us. When looking back thru photos and videos now, it is hard to imagine that he is gone. He prayed at the last cookout Labor Day and he was talking about the importance of family in his prayer. And he was right, because we don't know how long none of us will be here, so we should live and love like there is no tomorrow and then when we are gone, there should be no regrets. Love you Timmy! Rest in peace cuz!
