Guess what? My Grand child has a name

Fridays are once again exciting to look forward to. Last week was a busy week. Have been helping a co-worker get a report done so my work has been backing up. Cleaned my house on Friday night because I knew we would be out at the yard sales on Saturday. Didn’t go out until late because we did not get up until eight. We always look up the yard sales in the Friday paper and then just follow signs. Well we hit the mother load on Saturday. Sherwood Park that is located between Brook Road and Hermitage Road had a neighborhood yard sale. Twenty seven homes had yard sales. We parked the car and walked from house to house. The neighborhood is an old neighborhood with well built brick homes. The sidewalks were tree lined so it was like walking thru a park. We called Daddy and he came out and bought a wood chipper. Steve and I didn’t buy anything. We left there and were heading to the race track because we heard the cars out there and saw an Estate Sale sign and that was the rest of our day. They were having an auction behind the Diamond. They had everything in there including a giant tiger that was about three feet high and six feet long. They had all kinds of stuff in there. They had old slot machines from a casino and one guy bought about four or five of them for five dollars because nobody else bid on it. I saw this wall cabinet I bid on but my highest bid was going to be twenty and someone out bid me. They had display cases, home furniture and Lance cookie jars that went for EIGHTY DOLLARS. It was an old cookie jar that said LANCE on it. There was a bidding war on pallets of card board boxes. They went for $120.00 a pallet. I know we hung out there for a couple of hours. I did bid on a mirror that was about two feet by four feet and I got that for five dollars.

Went to church alone. No Steve today. Sunday was Lynette’s baby shower. It was at the Confederate Hills Recreation Center off Nine Mile Road. Jason’s grandmother Marci rode with me. I bought a tub and shower center, diapers, socks, knit cap, jogging suit, onsies, dresses and pant sets and a bag of miscellaneous things like a thermometer, diaper rash cream, medicine dropper…etc. They got a Diaper Genie, Stroller and a lot of clothes, diapers and gift cards. We played the usual shower games and Lynette and Daynon had one where we had to guess the baby’s name. And my granddaughter’s name will be……Kennedy. It is different but it has grown on me. At least it is not Listerine. They also asked for us to write on the easel pad our suggestions for a middle name because they have not decided on that yet. The shower was real nice; they had professional pictures take of Lynette and Daynon with her belly. Unfortunately, I have lost my camera so I had to take a disposable camera so I don’t have pictures right now. Did take some pictures with Daynon’s camera. Daynon and Lynette did a plaster of paris cast of her belly and they had that on the table for everyone to sign. I had not seen that before. That was neat. They loaded my other daughter-in-law Linda’s Ford Escape to the brim with all the gifts. There was not an inch of space left in there after we packed it all in. Got home around six or six thirty. Rode over to Dad’s and watched TV with him for a while. Then came home.

It is Monday again. Went to work. Daynon came to my job to bring Lynette something during the time I was at lunch, so we met at Extreme Pizza for lunch. The rest of the day went by fast. I went to my part time job. Had not worked there since last October. I did not work there while I was unemployed because they would have taken it out of my check, so what was the purpose of doing that. Anyway, the first night was not so bad. We did a survey for Bob McDonnell tonight. We see if I go back tomorrow. That is one reason why I like this job, I go when I feel like it. OK…talk to you guys later. Good night.
