What a beautiful weekend

The weather was perfect fall weather yesterday and today. Yesterday I should have been out working in the yard or finishing up projects I started instead of at yard sales. We won't have too many more of this kind of weekend.

Jason has now joined the youth choir...AKA....Unique Praise and they sing at 8 and ll. So I went to both services today. His Grandmother came to the eleven o'clock service. The choir has grown. They had fifteen people in the choir today. They did real good.

Pastor preached as he always does. His sermon was from Joshua Chapter one and it was titled "Get UP" He talked about how Moses had led the people almost to the Promise Land but died before he got there and how God told Joshua to get up and become the leader and take the people over to the promise land. As in life, there were Moses before us, our parents, grandparents, older sisters and brothers who lead the way for us and they prayed for us and lived by example instilling the word of God in us by making us go to church and Sunday school. Now some of us are now the Moses and we need to lead the new generation of Joshua's in the right direction so they will some day be the Moses to their younger generation.

After church we came home and I made Jason do his homework . Then we got dressed and went to VCC because I had to pay my Sears bill. Left the mall and picked Daddy up and went downtown to the 2 Street Festival. It was not as many people as it usually is on Sundays but there was a good crowd. The weather was perfect and we saw everybody and their mother down there. Saw my Aunt Janice and Uncle Allen there. He belongs to an antique car club and he has his 71' Camaro down there every year. They had a lot of antique cars and McGeorge Mercedes had a new car. I knew the salesman who was there with the car, Carnelle Andrews and Jason convinced him to let him sit in the car. Now for all the people I saw, my cousin Bubba Johnson, my cousin Earl Johnson (who was performing with the First African Orchestra) and his wife Sandra, Dot Penny (an old friend of my Mom's), Priscilla (who I use to exercise with), Deacon Lee Anderson( from my church) and his daughter and grand kids, my friend Thelma Neal's brother Carl, Bob Johnson (a friend of my cousin Sharon's dad), daddy's cousin Agnes Thompson and her husband Clarence, a guy we known for years from Ziontown Gil Cosby, Ira Turner (the drummer from my church), Felicia Starkes (church member). Wilma (church member). one of Dad's old co-worker, Mr. Cooper's daughter I use to play with and can't remember her name, one of daddy's neighbors Mr. Robinson, we saw Steve's cousin Toady, Mary Corbin (Church member) ....I know there was more but can't remember. We watched my cousin orchestra play, they were good and we watched the St. Paul Steppers before that. They were good also. We left the Festival about 5:45 and rode up Broad St. Showed Jason where I work then took him to McDonald's because he was hungry. Got to dad's and his Grandma came about thirty minutes later and whisked him out.

We stayed over Dad's until about nine and the came home and watched Desperate Housewives. Got on the computer to try and do my benefits for work but I think something is wrong with the web site. Have to do this by Tuesday. Going to bed after this. It has been a long day.

As Dee Dee Renee' says on 105.7 when she closes her show...."I love you all and there ain't nothing you can do about it".....Good night.
