Today was definitely a historical day, not just for me as a African American but as an American. I along with many other people never thought we would see this day in my lifetime. There were so many diverse people who went to the ceremony and it was truly a melting pot of America. Equal rights have come a long way, but it was not that long ago when this day was unthinkable. I am 53 years old and I remember when I had to eat at the counter at Woolworth's and not in a booth because of my color. Thank God for those, black and white, who stood up for our rights. I heard something on tv today that Bob Scheiffer said is that the kids being born after today will not know of a world without a black president. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they also grew up in a world without prejudice. I pray for our new president as I have for previous presidents that he runs the country well and that he puts God first in all he does. I was glad my sons, Stevie and Daynon got to attend this event and see history in the making.
In honor of today, I had an inauguration breakfast. It was attended by my Dad, my sister-in-law Pat, my cousins Babysis and Juiny Boy and my aunt Margo. We had a lovely time sharing this moment together. Check out the pictures on my slide show and see my Inauguration guests.

God Bless America!
