The day started cold and wet. Jason and I went to church. This was Jason's first time singing with the Olive Branches. They did a great job. They sing at the eleven o'clock service. I never go to the second service, but I guess I will be doing that on first Sundays now.
After church, we went to WAL-MART. It was a ZOO! Everybody and their Momma was there. We parked a long ways from the store. With the storm coming and it being the first of the month, it was not pretty. But I needed to pick up a few things. On our journey home, the sleet started. Daddy went to Bethany today and came back down the road right after church.
Dad called me today with sad news. A friend of the family, Viola Coleman, lost her son today. Lonnie Allen and his sister Brenda Allen and I went to elementary school together. I just saw Lonnie a couple of weeks ago. My Dad talked to him yesterday. He had pneumonia and rejected the Dr's warning that he should be hospitalized. My prayers are with them at this time.
Tomorrow is my daughter-in-law Linda's birthday and her parents invited us (Steve,Daddy,Jason and myself) down to their home in Varina for dinner. This was a first time visiting their new home. They have a lovely home. We watched the weather and decided we would go and would probably get back before things got worst. We were wrong. We ate dinner and talked for a little bit and then had cake and ice cream. And during that time, the weather took a turn for the worst. The deck was getting a covering of ice and snow, so we decided that unfortunately we had to eat and run. Linda and Steve headed home to Chesterfield. It probably took us a half hour or more to get home. Steve drove maybe thirty miles per hour at the most because the roads were bad. Daddy was leaning in his seat and watching the road. I think we were all glad to get home safely...thank God. Now that I am home...I love the snow. Unfortunately, Steve has to go out and work in it. Because of the snow. I told Jason's Grandmother he might as well stay here because I knew there would be no school tomorrow in Henrico County and I was right. After we dropped Daddy off, we came home. I put a string of Christmas lights in my bay window. You can't have snow without Christmas lights..LOL.
I worked online looking for a job. Applied at Brown's Distributing, will see if I hear from them. Then I watched Celebrity Apprentice. This is going to be a wild season. Did you see Joan Rivers face? I don't mean no harm, but she looks like something you see in the wax museum and she brags about how much she paid for that face. She needs to go back and get a refund....sorry. Going to bed now.
