Dreary Thursday

Rainy and cloudy days have different affects on different people. To some it is depressing. They feel a sense of loneliness. Others feel trapped inside ( like my Dad) who loves to piddls outside. Now to me, it is a good day to watch some good movies. I don't feel like doing a lot of housework except cleaning out drawers and closet. The bad thing is I tend to eat too much on those days.

But because of Freda's surgical procedure, I left home about 7:45 to sit with Baby Sis at the surgical center. I got there just when her and Freda got there. She was suprised to see me. I did not tell her I was coming. We sat in the lobby until her procedure was finished. Juiny Boy came a little before the procedure was finished. They told Babysis that the procedure would last about an hour and then Freda would have to lay still for two hours after ward and we could leave to go get something to eat. So the three of us went to MacLean's on Staples Mill Road for breakfast. If you have never been, they have an excellent breakfast. It is a small Mom and Pop hole in the wall type place, but the food is good. Juiny Boy left after he ate to go to a funeral and left us to finish. Babysis and I went back to the center and Freda was sitting up when we got back. The Dr. told Babysis the procedure went well. Soon after we got back, it was time for Freda to leave. We parted ways and I went home and Freda went back to the rehab center.

I came home and then Steve and I left soon after to go to the bank and then I had to pick up my clothes at the cleaners. We came back home because Daddy had gone to the funeral of Anna Johnson. She was married to Daddy's cousin. The funeral was at Bethany Baptist Church in Montpelier. I believe Daddy said she was 94. She was active til the end almost.

When I got home, I straighten up because our tax man, Paul Mallory, was coming to do our taxes. I hate this time of year. He came with his own portable office. A lap top with a stand, his full size wireles keyboard, staplers, a wireless mouse and a wireless printer. He had his stuff together. He has done our taxes for years but left the office we dealt with two years ago to do his own thing. I found his card the other day and called. Unfortuantely, after he finished punching in all the numbers, we have to pay the Governemnt and get a little change from the State. Oh well. Some years they get me and some years I get them.

After Mr.Mallory left, I fixed dinner. I am the section leader for the altos in my choir so I am suppose to check on members who are out sick and absent from the choir. So after dinner, I called to check on a couple of members who have been out sick. Then I got my music book and headed out to choir rehearsal. We learned a new song but the rest were songs we had rehearsed before. We got out at 8:30 tonight with the threat next week will be there until 9pm. I stopped in at Dad's after rehearsal and conversed with him until 9:40 and then came home. Went over my bills again now that I have paid for the tax preparation. Did not know exactly how much Mr.Mallory's bill would come to.

And now I am writing in my blog. But I must close out with this good news. I got a call today for an interview. I go in on Tuesday at 11:00 for an interview with ESTES. I hope they give me a second chance since I dissed them before for HCA. Keep me in your prayers.
