I ate too much today

Well let's go back to the beginning of my day before I tell you the end. I woke up about eight this morning. Was not in Yard Sale mode this morning so I got up and turned the TV on to watch the news and got into the movie "No Reservations" with Katherine Zeta-Jones. It was cute. I had never seen it before. I got my bowl of Fiber One and skim milk and ate breakfast in bed watching the movie. It went off around 10:30, so I felt I was behind on my morning already.
I made my bed, wiped things down in the bathroom and kitchen and then I hit the back yard with my oven door. You see, I have a black range top and exhaust fan but my oven door was the yellow from the 60's. So I spray painted it back in 2005 when I got the new range top. Well the paint was cracking so I had to repaint it. I bought a different paint than I used last time because Wal-Mart didn't have it and hoped it would work. I sanded the door down and wiped it down with a damp rag. Daddy came by to check out my new tree I planted. We sat out at the tool shed and talked for a while and then he left to go back home. I painted the door and guess what, the paint started buckling on it, so I removed all the paint off it and then Steve and I went to the PO&B. I went to Lowe's to get the right paint and picked up 3 packs of petunias to put in Daddy's big flower pot.

We stopped at Dad's to plant the flowers. He was outside painting his park bench. We stayed fifteen to twenty minutes and then we headed back home. I wanted to get home and repaint the door before it rained. It looked like it might rain at any moment. I sprayed a coat and then trimmed the bushes in the yard between coats. This time it turned out right. We brought it in the house after it dried to cure before we put it back on.

We showered and changed to go to the Graduation party of Steve's nephew Larry's daughter LaVone. LaVone is on the left and that is her sister Angela on the right. On the way to the party, Stevie called and said that he and Daynon were going to their friend Tank's house for a cook out. Tank lives around the corner from our house. Stevie told us to stop by. Now back to LaVone, She graduated from UVA. She is a Dr of Medicine. She will be leaving Friday to do her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Houston, Texas for three years. She wants to go on and become a cardiologist and do heart surgeries including transplants. The party was at the Grapevine II on Three Chopt Road. I had never been there. Oh the statue was a big conversation piece. They have a banquet hall there. They first served us shrimp and calamari. Next they brought a cheese that was on fire when they brought it to the table with pita bread. I didn't try it but Steve said it was good. They were constantly bringing us baskets of bread. Next they brought a salad and then the buffet started. There was fried shrimp, fried oysters, crab cakes, lasagna and baked spaghetti and they brought bake potatoes that were cooked to perfection. I had never eaten oysters, they were not bad. Steve had not eaten calamari before. I didn't tell him it was squid until after he ate it. He liked it. They then brought us cake. I think everyone was miserable by the end because we all ate too much. Family and friends got up to give speeches congratulating LaVone and telling her how proud they were of her being the first Dr. in the family. The party started at 5:30 and we left about 8:15 or so. We headed to Tank's house. Stevie, Daynon, Linda, Lynette and my soon to be Grandchild were still there. All the guys were upstairs in the Boom Boom Room watching the game so Steve went upstairs and I stayed downstairs with the wives and kids. By the way, my Grandchild is coming right along. :-).

We stayed until 9:30 or so and then came home. We put the oven door back on. It turned out better than last time. Although, there is a scratch on it that wasn't there when I brought it in the house but Steve doesn't know anything about it...sure he doesn't. Too bad I can't do the washing machine.

I downloaded my pictures from today and now I am reporting to you guys what when down today.
