Job interview today*****UPDATED****

I finally was able to transfer my pictures. The roses in the center of the tulips from Marcia were from my daughter-in-law Linda. Don't they look beautiful.

I have a job interview today. I am very nervous. The longer I am out of work, the less confident I am of myself. I was told up front that I would be interviewing with 3-4 people. Y'all pray for me.
I woke up early this morning, anticipating the interview today. I turned the TV on before 6 this morning. I watched Tv until eight and then I turned my electric curlers on so that I could roll up my hair. I worked on two DVD's for Mrs. Coleman that she wanted copied and then I pressed my clothes and took my shower.
Steve took me to my interview...don't ask. I told him he would probably have to sit in the car an hour or two but he went any way. The interview was for a company called Standex Engraving. They do embossing on things like plastic fences or Bounty paper towels. They are located on Lewis Road which is off of Williamsburg Road. My interview was at 1:15 and I got there at 1:00. Donna Abrams was the HR person who called me and we met each other on the steps when I got there. She instructed me to wait in the office at the top of the stairs and she would be right back and she was. She basically gave me a brief description of the job and then told me I would be interviewed by three other people. The first person was Ron, the Purchasing guy, then Billy Jo, she was the Materials Manager and then Ken, the Controller. They all were really nice people. I was surprised how easy they were to talk to, they were real laid back. The company has about 100 employees, so it is about the size of my last job, Dometic. They told me the position was a cross between Buyer/Receptionist/Receiving/Accounting. I would have to purchase supplies, answer the phones, match purchase orders and packing slips and reconcile invoices for payment. Pretty much had the experience for all jobs listed above which they thought they would not find one person with all those skills. The interview went very well. They interviewed one person yesterday and another person after me. The want the new hire to start on Monday, so hopefully I will get an answer tomorrow. The job sounds interesting. They offer two weeks vacation upon hire and they close on Christmas Eve and open back after New Year's Day. The only fault I have is the long drive to Sandston everyday. I was trying to find something close to home. We will see what the pay is going to be and if it would be worth it. I guess in my position, I can't afford to be choosy. I was finally out of there at 3:15.
I worked up a real appetite, so Steve and I stopped at Golden Skillet on Williamsburg Road and got something to eat. They have good chicken. Daynon lives about two blocks away and stopped there to leave something in his door for Lynette.
We headed home and I watched "The Young and the Restless" on DVR and Steve was out in the yard. I worked on my coupons while I was watching TV. Daynon called on the house phone and Stevie called on the cell, so Daynon called Stevie and we talked on three way about how my interview went. Afterwards, I went outside and Steve and I sat in the tool shed watching TV. The weather was really nice. I came in the house to get ready for Choir rehearsal and left about 6:50. Daddy had rehearsal tonight at his church so Steve stayed home. Talked to Daddy several times today, but did not see him. My rehearsal was not over until 8:45. Dad got home about the same time.
When I got home, I watched Survivor on DVR and then I finished filling out all the info on the Nielsen ratings diary. We had to write down everything we watched on TV for the last week. Let me tell you, it is a real pain. Steve is all over the place with the remote. They paid us $30.00 in cash, but it should have been $100.00 for all the trouble it is. You have a dairy for every TV you have and even if you have the TV on and are not watching it, you have to write that in the diary. I will put them in the mail with good riddance.
Well I am tired now, so I will go to bed.
Check out the new picture slide show I posted of Mother's Day. They were from Stevie and Linda's breakfast, dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and at Uncle Doc's after dinner. Also, I have added new pictures to the church construction slide show. They are really moving on that building. They are supposed to be finished on Dec. 15Th.
