Catch up time

OK, if you waited until Monday like we did to have a cook out, you got rained on. But it worked out. I got to cook the burgers and dogs on the grill before the rain came and we put some chairs in the house. To begin with, we were just going to have a little something to eat and the boys and their wives were coming and that would be it. But then Daddy invited his sisters and I called Baby Sis and Juiny Boy and it turned into a mini jump off. Daddy fried chicken wingettes and I bought my BBQ and I made coleslaw, mac and cheese and cooked some string beans and a lemon pound cake. The following people came: Aunt Janice, Uncle Allen, Uncle Irvin, Aunt Yvonne, Uncle Doc stopped by, Twine, Stevie, Linda, Daynon, Lynette didn't come she stayed at home resting, Jason dissed us for his friends, Baby Sis, Juiny Boy, Steve, Daddy and Me. We had a nice time. Everyone loved my BBQ. We sat and talked and the rain let up and some moved outside. The tennis game was on and a few got into watching that. We cleaned up and everyone was gone by nine. It was a nice day in spite of the rain.

Having a holiday has made the week short, so it has been flying by. On Wednesday night, my choir had to sing a North Gayton Church on Pump Road. We didn't have transportation by the church so I had to drive. Short Pump has really transformed. I remember when it was nothing but woods out there.

Thursday, Daynon stopped at my job. He called while going down Broad and I told him I was sitting in my car. He and sat and talked for a bit then we rode down to a new restaurant on Broad called Cameron's across from the DMV. OK, I have never eaten crab cakes and that is what Daynon got for lunch. It was delicious. I had already eaten my lunch but I sure could have eaten one of those crab cakes. It did not taste like I thought it would. The breading was so light and fluffy and it wasn't really fish tasting. Expensive though but good. We sat in the parking lot at my job while he ate and I helped him with the fries. The were good too.

Went back to work and the rest of the day flew by. Stopped at Little Caesars and pikced up a pizza. Did not go on Wednesday, because we were still eating leftovers.

Went to choir rehearsal. We have been learning a lot of new songs. Rev. Lee gave us a CD of Christmas music for us to start listening to. Boy Christmas will be here before we know it.

Picked up Steve and Dad's. We watched a little TV and then we came home. Watched Big Brother.....Go JORDAN! I am so glad she beat that snake Natalie and I hope she beats Kevin. Finale on Tuesday...can't wait.

I hope you all have a blessed day. And to all you who are still looking for a job, don't get discouraged...God has something for you also. It just has to come in his time.
