The Pursuit of Happiness

Why is it that kids love to build forts. Jason decided today that he would get some of my old sheets, a chair and box and made himself a little fort. With my IPOD he was very content in his own little world. It is wonderful to be that age and the most simpliest things make you happy. Maybe we all need to regain that childish mentally in regards to the pursuit of happiness. Happiness is not always material things but a state of mind.

The day was a mostly relaxing day. Have a little sore throat and Jason was still coughing so I nixed my plans to hit the malls today. Went to the cleaners, bank, Ukrops and then went to visit Uncle Doc and Mary. Enjoy talking with my cousin Angela who lives in Petersburg. Don't get to see her often.

Tomorrow is a big day for my church family, we are burning the mortgage on our church. We moved in it August 2004. Don't have a finished outside picture. We are also doing ground breaking for our phase II. It will have classrooms, a library, a commerical kitchen, banquet hall with stage. We are real excited. Our old church is going to be demolished on Jan. 2. I remember when that church was built. Stevie was about 2 years old. The transistion is going to be hard, a black baptist church with out a kitchen, means not food. The time will definitely pass slow...LOL

Love you guys.

Proverbs 3:13-14 Happy is the man who makes disvoery of wisdom, and he who gets knowledge. For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit thereof than fine gold.

  2. Yeah I remember the days of using old boxes and sheets to build forts in that very same room, wow it's crazy how time flies by. I agree sometimes I think we take life to serious and miss out on all the fun we could be having.

Congrats to Mt. Olive, they called me yesterday to tell me about the events of today.
