Last night I wrote about the homeless being in that frigid temperature and then I turned the news on and they were talking about the homeless being in the cold and the shelters were at the max. They said that Sixth Mt. Zion on Duval street was taking in the over flow. They also said they needed donations of clothes, hats, gloves, etc. Just this week I cleaned out a lot of sweaters that Steve had in his closet and could not wear. We were going to save them for our annual yard sale but I felt the homeless could use them more. I woke up about 6:30 this morning and I thought about all the gloves, scarves and hats we had. I went thru all of those things and put them in the bag with the sweaters. I called my Dad to see if he had anything and then he reminded me of the jeans, coats and sweatshirts, some of Daynon's that we did not sell at our yard sale this summer. So I loaded them in the car and the three of us went to the church downtown. It was amazing the out pour of donations that people were bringing in. I was glad to able to help in a small way.
We went and visited my mom's best friend, Viola Coleman after we left the church. Sat there for a while and shot the breeze with her. She caught a frying pan on fire and burnt her hand real bad a couple of weeks ago, so we were checking on her to see how she was doing. Her hand is healing but she has a long way to go.
Stopped in at Wal-mart and picked up a few things so I wouldn't have to go tomorrow after church. Took Dad home and then came home. I switched my DVD in the bedroom with my DVD recorder in the den and it took me a couple of days and a RF adapter to figure it out. I have been trying to convert all my VHS tapes to DVD but Steve takes control of the den and I can't seem to ever get in there to work on them. Stevie and Daynon know exactly where I am coming from on that one. Anyway, now I have no excuse. That is going to be my next project.
Jason and his grandmother, Marcella came over and she left him here so he can go to church with me tomorrow. We ate dinner and then we went over Dad's and played dominoes with Babysis. We stopped at 10:00 so it was a tie between Daddy and me.
Got Jason in the bath tub and ready for bed and I am heading there myself in a few.
