Sunday, June 7th 2009

It was a beautiful day today. I had to sing twice today. Next Sunday is youth Sunday so we switched Sundays with the youth and sang today and they will sing next Sunday. Today was our Pastor's 13th anniversary. Time flies by so fast. My Mom only lived eight months after getting our new Pastor back then, but she loved Rev. Thompson. She had planned to invite he and his family to dinner, but that never came to reality. Some how I got the duty of presenting the gift from our choir, Voices of Commitment. I was nervous but they said I did fine. Rev. Hayes from Abner spoke at the 8AM service. He made a cute statement that a preacher's sermon should be like a woman's dress, long enough to cover the essentials, but short enough to keep you interested. He had a good message about while working for the Lord don't let nothing stop you. At the 11am service, Rev. Sykes from St. James spoke. His sermon was good. I don't have my Bible in the house with my notes and I don't remember his message right now.

Daddy bought two packs of spare ribs on sale the other day. He told me that since my ribs always taste good, he wanted me to cook the ribs and told me to keep one pack for myself. So I washed and seasoned the ribs before church and came home between services and put them in the oven. Came home and put the BBQ sauce on the ribs and let them cooked for about thirty more minutes. I love the Kraft "thick and spicy" Honey sauce.

Steve and I ate dinner and then I cleaned up the kitchen and sat down for a few minutes. Talked to Daynon about the baby class he went to on Saturday. I think the classes are making him more nervous about impending Father hood. Having a baby is a BIG responsiblity, but I keep telling him he will be a good Daddy. Basically he will become us...Steve and I. All the the protective things we did for him and Stevie when they were young and they thought we were over protectived, he will be doing the same for his child.

We went over Daddy's about 4:30. Margo came over to bring her car because Daddy needed to fix the horn on her car. Becky came over also, because she was taking Margo home. We sat on the patio and laughed and talked until about 9:00. Talked to Stevie on the way home, he said he had been studying for school today and working in the yard. Had to be at work at 5 on Monday. No way I could have hours like that.

Daynon told me that he and Lynette went to Broad Appetit yesterday. They have a couple of blocks of Broad St blocked off and different restaurants were there with samples of their foods. Daynon said most things were under three dollars to try. I will have to check that out next year.

Steve and I came home and watched Quantum Solace the last James Bond movie. Well I did any way, Steve was sleep as usual. Went to be at 12.
