Saturday-
Woke up around 6:30. Couldn't go back to sleep so by 6:50 I was up. Made some pancakes watched TV for a bit and then cleaned house. Had bought a watermelon from Martin's Friday, so I cut that up and took a cup outside to Steve down at the tool shed. Sat out there for a while and we then went to rhe post office and then proceeded to dad's and chilled on the patio. Stayed longer than expexted. Dads neighbor was cooking food on the grill. He was having a family picnic @ VA Randolph so we talked with him for a while. Then one of dads neighbors, Mrs. Lockwood, who has lived there since I was young has a daughter named Margaret and she and her husband stopped by and we reminensced about old times. By the time they left it was 3:30. We went home ate some left over pizza and watched my favorite old movie with Don Knotts, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. Love that movie. Stevie called. He was at work so he didn't talk long. Chilled out and napped, then took a shower and went back to Dad's. He had called and said my cousin Sissy was over there. We sat and talked, played dominoes and talked some more until after 10. Came home and another of my favorite movies was on, Urban Cowboy with John Travolta. LOVE that movie. Have had a crush on him since Welcome Back Kotter days...LOL. After that I went to bed.
Sunday-
Went to the 8am service. Came home, changed clothes and heated up some left over pancakes and sat out back and ate and enjoyed the breeze and the gospel music on the radio. Steve has been piddling in the tool shed trying to straighten that out. It won't last long. He is like Fred Sanford, always bringing stuff home. Anyway, I helped him out for a while, then I went in the house to cook dinner. Got a text from Stevie. He was off today.
After dinner, we watched the movie The Social Network on DVD. It is ironic that Mark Zuckerberg made millions creating a social network, Facebook and he only had one true friend I pray the friends he does have now are true friends and not out for his money. Any way, after the movie I started getting dress to go over Dad's and was watching the movie In and Out. Had seen it before but is a funny movie.
Went over to Dads. Aunt Margo, her friend Becky and my dads friend Twine was there. We sat and talked and they left about eight. We are now chilling on the patio. Torches lit and the fan blowing to keep moqyitos away. Probably will leave about nine after I put Daddy's drops in his eyes. Have to be at work at 6:30 tomorrow...uggh! Hope you all had a blessed weekend. Gonna leave you with notes from Pastor Thompson's sermon today. Be blessed.
Subject: "It's Heavy So Be Careful"
I Peter verses 1-8
Moving would not be so bad if all the boxes were light. Wouldn't it be wonderful if life was light. Heaviness is sometimes a part of our spiritual lives. Some time heaviness takes over our mind and spirit. You feel weighed down. Sometimes we need to change the grip on what we are carrying. Periods of spiritual heaviness can cause growth or bitterness in some believers. When things r heavy remember that God is keeping u together. In the midst of heaviness God is trying to show you something. Every now and then we need to work on our faith. If we we really want to please God we need to show our faith and believe it will get us thru. There is no trial in our life without God's grace. Grace is not given to the strong or swift but to those who endure the race. Peter encourages the people that what we r going thru will help build us up. When u look back over your life u can c what God has done and he will do it again.
